The Latest | 2022 LB Kip Lewis
Caught up with 2022 Carthage (Texas) linebacker Kip Lewis this afternoon and when you think of Notre Dame kids, the ISD four-star prospect is exactly that.Lewis was extremely grateful for the offer from Notre Dame, but the last month has somewhat been a whirlwind for him and his family. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder had early offers from Arkansas and Houston, but in the few weeks, Lewis has received offers from Baylor, Colorado State, LSU, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and USC in addition to Notre Dame. As with most prospects, Lewis hoped to have a national offer list, but it hasn't set in for him as it's happened quickly. When it comes to Texas, Texas A&M and the other in-state offers, Lewis definitely wanted those and is super proud to earn them, but he's not a kid who grew up dreaming of playing college ball in Texas. He's very open to heading out of state for school and Notre Dame should be able to capture his attention quickly. His family is from Texas and Louisiana. Notre Dame is a school Lewis doesn't know a ton about other than its academic reputation and that "they almost made the National Championship" game. He mentioned he wants to go to school with a great Business School and I'm 99% sure he isn't familiar with Mendoza so the Irish will hit home there. I was a little confused with where he said Brian Polian told him he was going to be playing as he mentioned Will and Rover, which he could play both. Lewis is focused on improving his pass coverage this year and speed is what college coaches have fallen in love with at this stage. He had a big playoff run and that's what Super impressive kid that will give Notre Dame a hard look if they make him a priority. Carthage has a great staff that really coaches well and have a reputation for development around Texas. Lewis might not pop off film like some other prospects, Texas sources love him because he's advanced. Junior Highlightshttps://www.hudl.com/video/3/12684250/5fecef39ff02381028d9aeae

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
