Made two predictions
I've gone ahead and thrown in a prediction for Notre Dame to land 2023 Saint James School (Md.) DL Devan Houstan. The four-star prospect has a strong relationship with Al Washington and he's felt the love from the staff over the last few months. "He's very authentic in what he does," said Houstan earlier this week. "You can tell it's not the used car salesman approach when he talks to you. Coach Washington talks to you as a person and not a product, which is definitely a positive. Recruiting can very easily turn into a business where it takes the fun out of it compared to an actual bond or connection."I think Houstan has gone about this process in a mature way as he's taken a ton of visits this spring as he is learning each detail about every program he has interest in. As stated before, Houstan's brother, Caleb, was a five-star hoops prospect a few year ago, so Houstan and his family learned a great deal about the recruiting process and what to look for in a program. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman has made Houstan a priority as well as the two have weekly conversations and as you have seen in recent months, the head football coach recruiting hard matters. I'm not sure there is a timeline for his commitment as this point, but I believe Notre Dame has a firm lead here. Update from earlier this week: 2023 DL Devan Houstan Building Strong Relationships with Notre DameI've gone ahead and also made a prediction for Ohio State to land 2024 QB Dylan Raiola. Some coaches believe Raiola could be the top QB in the country regardless of class, which is a statement in itself. Notre Dame almost had him on campus a few weeks ago, but the trip didn't end up happening. One thing to watch here is Ohio State has Raiola and top 2024 QB Jadyn Davis on campus right now for the spring game. Many feel Davis has had the Buckeyes in the lead for a long time so it could turn into a race to commit first, which is strange to say about 2024 QB recruiting in April of 2022. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
