Dia Bell

Checked in with 2026 Forney (Texas) RB Javian Osborne as Deland McCullough was at his school on Tuesday to watch spring practice. It meant a great deal to the four-star back for McCullough to make the trip when they technically can't talk with each other as it showed how much Notre Dame was interested in him. Osborne also mentioned McCullough said he's the No. 1 back on the board for the Irish, which shouldn't come as a shock to anyone as it takes about three plays to realize the Forney star is special. Notre Dame is a school Osborne hopes to visit this summer and he's trying to make it happen. He said he's expecting to visit Georgia on May 30th and then is also close to locking in trips to Tennessee and Wisconsin locked in for June as well. It's important for Notre Dame to get him on campus this summer not only to stay in the race, but to make a significant move. Osborne is a Notre Dame fit in every way from personality to what he wants off the field, so he's the type of kid who will see what the university can do for him in every aspect. Gino Guidugli had seen Bell throw at camp last June, but this trip was to gather film for Mike Denbrock. Bell does hold an offer from LSU and visited in the fall for a game, but didn't meet Denbrock. He returned to Baton Rouge this spring for an actual recruiting visit after getting the offer, but that was after Denbrock had left. As mentioned in previous updates, Bell has always held Notre Dame in high regard as he camped in South Bend as an eighth grader too. I believe he's been to campus three times at this point and every trip has been an extremely positive experience for him and his family. Bell's father, former NBA player Raja Bell, also holds Notre Dame in high regard. The elder Bell has a great deal of respect for Marcus Freeman and Chad Bowden. It's also worth noting that the Bells are very close family friends with the Faison family and the four-star prospect is very aware of the fun it could be to play with them. I do think Bell is slightly behind a few other 2026 quarterbacks in development, but that's because 2023 was his first year starting varsity, while some of the others started as freshmen. The positive for Bell is he has an extremely high ceiling and plays one of the toughest schedules in the country at American Heritage.
