New Predictions
I've gone ahead and made predictions for Notre Dame to land 2024 defensive end Bryce Young and 2024 defensive lineman Justin Scott. For Young, it's not a shocking pick given he's a legacy and has made an effort to learn and experience Notre Dame for himself over the last six months. That said, I wanted to see how he felt about Notre Dame recruiting pitch and how the staff went about recruiting him given his father is one of the best defensive linemen to ever play the game of football. Young is confident Notre Dame is recruiting him for him and not his father and the Charlotte native has a full grasp of what opportunities await him in South Bend. When it comes to Scott, it has similar makings of Tyson Ford's recruitment The four-star prospect visited Notre Dame early, but then kind of cooled off as he didn't make the trip from Chicago to campus this fall. Al Washington has been persistent here and recent conversations have gone well with Scott and his family. This recruitment is one of the rare cases where distance favors them and after trips to Miami and USC, I think Scott would prefer to stay in the Midwest. I think Michigan and Ohio State will certainly ramp things up over the next two weeks before his decision on January 31st, but I like where Notre Dame stands in this one right now. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
