2021 S Derrick Davis Announces Top 7
2021 Gateway (Pa.) safety Derrick Davis listed his top seven on Sunday and Notre Dame didn't make the cut. The four-star prospect will focus on Clemson, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt and USC. Davis considered Notre Dame heavily at one point in his recruitment and the Irish likely lead at points in 2018. However, Davis never made it back to campus and it stalled his recruitment.Notre Dame also may have pitched him on playing running back, safety and linebacker at specific points in his recruitment. During his recruitment, Sources told me Davis felt he was a safety and wanted to play safety at the next level. I do feel he'll likely end up at linebacker, but we'll see and see how long he lasts at safety if that's what sells him on his future school. Not a shocker in terms of him eliminating the Irish as there hasn't been much communication between the sides in recent months.

Quick note on 2021 S Derrick Davis
Can confirm Brian Kelly was at Gateway (Pa.) high school on Wednesday to check on 2021 four-star safety Derrick Davis. Davis was at one time a prospect who I felt Notre Dame would land, but contact seems to have slowed from both sides until yesterday. And much like top prospects, Kelly wasn't the only head coach on the trail as Paul Chryst, Jim Harbaugh and Dabo Swinney are set to be in the school on Thursday. Offers: Alabama, Baylor, Boston College, Cincinnati, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt, Syracuse, Temple, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsinhttps://www.hudl.com/video/3/9467301/5deb4f6f4deb130ae4cb9818

2021 S Derrick Davis Says Notre Dame Hasn't Been Eliminated
Derrick Davis has some schools ahead of the Irish at this point, but the 2021 Pennsylvania safety says he's still considering Notre Dame and wants to get back to South Bend at some point.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
