The Latest | 2025 LB Marco Jones
Caught up with 2025 San Ramon Valley (Calif.) linebacker Marco Jones following his first visit to Notre Dame over the weekend. - Notre Dame is definitely going to be a contender here. The key will be getting him back to campus. Jones arrived with his mother and grandmother on this trip and hopes to get back for a Junior Day or official visit with his father and grandmother from the other side. - Jones admitted he wasn't expecting the atmosphere of Saturday to be as intense as it was and it was a good thing. I'm not sure anyone expected that kind of atmosphere if we're being honest. It left a lasting impression, especially on a high school junior who had yet to take in a major college football game of that magnitude. - The four-star prospect loved Notre Dame's defense and was blown away by how they shut down the Ohio State offense. He pointed to that happening only because of development and great coaching. Jones spent time with Max Bullough, Al Golden, Marcus Freeman and Chad Bowden and all left positive impressions. - Jones had previous relationships with Logan Saldate and Deuce Knight, so he enjoyed his time around them. He didn't hide the fact that Knight was a great recruiter and made his presence felt. - As of now, Jones isn't in any type of hurry to make a decision, so expect him to visit some West Coast programs the rest of the fall. Notre Dame would ideally get him back for a Junior Day and then an official visit, but we'll see. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
