Marcus Freeman & Mike Mickens on the recruiting trail
In checking around the recruiting world, Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and Mike Mickens are expected to make a few stops on Wednesday. I expect them to head to Fort Wayne to check on 2025 safety commit Brandon Logan, who was at Notre Dame over the weekend for the Louisville game. Freeman and Mickens are also expected to head to Cincinnati to do some area recruiting, which means they will likely be making a stop at St. Xaver High School to see 2025 defensive lineman commit Gordy Sulfsted and 2026 linebacker Jakobe Clapper, who both were also on campus last weekend. I haven't confirmed it, but the duo could make a stop at their alma mater, Wayne High School, to check on 2027 athlete Jamier Brown, who was the first offer in the class and he was on campus for the NIU game last month. Heat Check | Notre Dame Recruiting Weekend
Notre Dame will have several commits and top targets on campus this weekend as the Irish host No. 15 Louisville.
Added a couple more names to the Grill and Chill Visitor List
2025 Notre Dame running back commits Daniel Anderson and Justin Thurman will be back in South Bend while 2025 tight end commit James Flanigan will also return to campus. I'm also expecting Joseph Reiff, Chris Burgess, Dom Hulak, Mark Zackery IV and Noah Grubbs to also be back at Notre Dame. There is also a chance Gordy Sulfsted and Ethan Long make an appearance, but I'm told Long's birthday is on Thursday, so it's still up in the air. 2026 Santa Margarita (Calif.) receiver Trent Mosley is also expected to make a return to campus, which is a big deal for both sides. Notre Dame offered early, so there's a relationship there, but it's also important for him to get to feel Mike Brown, Mike Denbrock and rest of the staff out in person. He tells ISD that his plan is to be get back to Notre Dame on Thursday, which is significant if the Irish are going to hold off Ohio State. It's very clear Weatherspoon is a Notre Dame fit and he thoroughly enjoyed his visit last month. Weatherspoon has a verified 4.48 40 and a vertical of 33.3 inches.
