Recruiting Visits Picking Up
Notre Dame has been working behind the scenes since the National Title game and now they'll get to see some of the rewards of the hard work as several top targets will be making their way to campus. The Irish will start spring practice on Wednesday and they'll be opening the door for several of the nation's top prospects. Two of the nation's best at their respective positions will be on campus Wednesday. 2026 running back Javian Osborne will get his first look at Notre Dame and 2026 cornerback Joey O'Brien will get to experience campus for like the 20th time. 2027 Illinois quarterback Jameson Purcell will return for practice and Notre Dame will also host 2027 Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) tight end JT Geraci will visit campus. Geraci holds offers from Boston College, Pitt, Syracuse, Vandy and Virginia Tech. On Friday, Notre Dame will host an impressive group of 2026 and 2027 prospects. 2026 Bergen Catholic (N.J.) cornerback Jordan Thomas will make his awaited visit to campus. The four-star prospect was one of Notre Dame's first offers but has never quite held the Irish in high regard as others from his high school. 2026 Myers Park (N.C.) defensive end Rodney Dunham is also expected on campus Friday. The Irish are firmly in the mix and this will be a big visit for both sides. Dunham will return on June 14th for an official visit. 2026 Kansas tight end Ian Premer was offered this winter and he'll be on campus for the first time. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder has set officials to Kansas and Kansas State, so this could go a long way in securing one for the Irish. 2027 linebacker Cooper Witten will get his first look at Notre Dame on Friday. He's the son of Jason Witten, and we know Notre Dame's presence with NFL dads. He's an elite prospect and an early visit is good news for Notre Dame. 2027 defensive tackle Deven Robertson will make the trip to South Bend from Mississippi. Notre Dame needs more size on the interior and Robertson has a big-time frame. Like Witten, Robertson added his offer from the Irish on Monday. 2027 Carmel Catholic (Ill.) quarterback Trae Taylor is also expected on Friday. On Saturday, Notre Dame will host one of the best football players in the country in 2027 Blessed Trinity Catholic (Ga.) defensive end David Jacobs Jr. He'll also be with his brother, Dawson Jacobs, who will be a Power 4 prospect. 2027 Boyle County (Ky.) tight end Seneca Driver will get a look at Notre Dame after earning his Pot of Gold Day offer. The last time Notre Dame recruited Boyle County, it didn't end so well as Landon Bartleson never made it campus. Want the latest scoop on the Fighting Irish? 2027 QB Trae Taylor Ready To Return To Notre Dame
2027 Illinois quarterback Trae Taylor's next - and possibly final - swing of visits will include South Bend.
2027 QB Sets Notre Dame Visit
2027 Carmel Catholic (Ill.) QB Trae Taylor will be making a final round of visits before he makes a commitment later this spring. He'll return to Notre Dame on March 18th. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder has not been offered by Notre Dame to this point. Taylor has been to Notre Dame multiple times, including last summer's Irish Invasion camp. At this point, I'm not positive Notre Dame will offer. Gino Guidugli is working on his 2027 board this month, which should become clearer in the coming weeks. Taylor will also make trips to Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska and Texas A&M. He currently has a top 5 of Illinois, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska and Texas A&M. Notre Dame on the Recruiting Trail | 1.6
Notre Dame might be prepping for Thursday's Orange Bowl, but that doesn't slow down the recruiting machine as Monday is the start of the winter evaluation period. The Irish won't have coaches on the road for obvious reasons, but Notre Dame did get a waiver to send recruiting staffers and some of its personnel staff on the road. General Manager Chad Bowden will be in Las Vegas on Monday and he'll make a stop at Bishop Gorman to check in with 2026 safety Jett Washington. Notre Dame is pushing hard here after a visit in he fall fell through, but Washington has always spoken very highly of the Irish, so we'll see if the staff can get him locked in for a visit. Director of Recruiting Caleb Davis is expected to do some area recruiting and one stop we expect is to Yorktown High School (Ind.) to check on 2027 defensive end Chris Wilson. The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder holds an 81-inch wingspan and is someone who could quickly turn into a national prospect once the camp circuit begins. Wilson holds offers from Eastern Kentucky, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland and Samford. Assistant to the GM Carter Auman will be in Wisconsin, Senior Offensive Analyst Harris Bivin will be Chicago, High School Relations/Analyst Deland McCullough II will be in Detroit, Assistant Athletics Director/Elite SA & Prospect Issues Scott Connors will be in Toledo while Director of Player Personnel Zaire Turner and On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator Becca Sites will be in Indiana and Illinois. I'm told Sites and Turner were at Andrean High School (Ind.) earlier today and I believe they will also hit up Mount Carmel (Ill.), which is the home of 2026 USC defensive end commit Braeden Jones, who Notre Dame is still recruiting. It's likely some of the Chicago area recruiting will be to Simeon High School, the home of 2025 signee Chris Burgess and 2026 defensive end target McHale Blade. 2027 Harper Wood (Mich.) WR/DB Dakota Guerrant was offered by Notre Dame following camp in the summer and it's likely McCullough drops by on Monday. I'm told Auman made stops to check oin 2027 quarterbacks Jameson Purcell and Trae Taylor in Chicago before heading to Wisconsin to see 2025 kicker signee Erik Schmidt.
