2026 DE off the board for now...
2026 Mount Carmel (Ill.) defensive end Braeden Jones committed to USC in what seems to be out of nowhere. He's been a frequent visitor to Notre Dame over the last year, including seeing the Irish play at A&M and Purdue this fall and was expected in South Bend for the Florida State game. We'll see if this sticks long term, which I imagine it won't given USC's long distance commitments rarely do.

2026 DL Not Visiting Notre Dame This Week
There is a report floating around that 2026 Mount Carmel (Ill.) defensive lineman Braeden Jones will be visiting Notre Dame for this week's Grill and Chill, but that's not the case. Jones has practice and will not be in attendance. The four-star has been a consistent visitor over the last year, so it's not a huge deal. Notre Dame and Ohio State will likely end up battling this one out. Jones didn't hide the fact Notre Dame led coming out of the spring, but admitted the offer he was looking forward to earning was Ohio State and he did just that by earning an offer this summer. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.
