The Latest | 2026 WR Gordon Sellars
2026 Providence Day (N.C.) WR Gordon Sellars made his first trip to Notre Dame on Tuesday and it was a busy trip. The visit got rolling around 7am as the staff had to pack a ton of info into a short amount of time. Sellars was able to have the regular meetings with Marcus Freeman, Mike Brown and the recruiting staff, but he also did a deep dive into Notre Dame's academics. I'm told Sellars' parents are big into education, so that was a big emphasis as the Irish needed to make a big-time impression. In terms of fit, Sellars impressed many folks around The Gug during his visit with his character and energy. This wasn't a courtesy visit by Sellars, but one that he took very seriously as his recruitment could end on Friday. One of the downsides of the visit being on a Tuesday and having so much for him to experience/see is that he didn't get a ton of time around Notre Dame's players due to the class schedule. Not sure that's a make or break piece given he's friends with Thomas Davis Jr. and knows the types of kids from Charlotte who have picked Notre Dame in the last year or so. As for what's next? I'm told Sellars will take time to think about what he wants to do over the next 24 hours or so. If he decides to continue with making his commitment on Friday, I'd believe it would be Clemson. Notre Dame ideally gets him to delay it, build the relationship and get him back for an OV. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18387052/673aec0800490a671e3c2222Notre Dame Fighting Irish Winners Podium Tri-Blend T-Shirt

2026 WR Sets Visit
As mentioned yesterday, 2026 Providence Day (N.C.) receiver Gordon Sellars has locked in a visit to Notre Dame for next week. The four-star prospect will be on campus Tuesday for the first time. It'll be a big visit for both sides as it's safe to say Notre Dame is looking for him to push back his commitment date that is set for April 18th. Clemson appears to be confident they lead right now, but if Sellars does push it back, then it opens the door for Notre Dame to really push and build a relationship in the coming weeks. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18387052/673aec0800490a671e3c2222

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
