A few recruiting notes...
Notre Dame hosted some of the nation's best this weekend, and they moved the needle with quite a few prospects. The short answer is Notre Dame is trending up for 2027 receiver Jackson Coleman, 2027 tight end Titus Hawk, 2027 defensive end Marcus Fakatou, 2027 defensive end Xavier Muhammad, 2028 receiver Maddox Weil. 2028 defensvie end Jackson Vaughn and 2028 defensive back Keaton Fields -- among others. It was a big weekend for the defensive line as it's hard to pinpoint a bigger weekend in terms of top-end talent on campus. There were some questions on if Charlie Partridge would want to recruit and it's becoming apparent he loves it and does an excellent job at it. Now, the Irish have to close, but the reviews are high from recruits and parents for the job he's done. I'm hesitant on Notre Dame's chances with 2027 offensive lineman Oluwasemilore Olubobola and 2027 linebacker Brayton Feister at this point. It feels like Olubobola would succeed at Notre Dame, but there are some around him who might be focused on more than just football. That said, the five-star is easily one of the most physically impressive prospects I've seen. He's going to be a monster. As for Feister, I've never really gotten a great vibe that he's taken Notre Dame overly serious in his recruitment despite being four hours away. Notre Dame remains in a good spot for 2027 defensive end Ifeanyi Emedobi, but he might be a name to watch down the line as it'll be interesting to see when others jump on board. Regardless, Emedobi loves Notre Dame and has a personality that would thrive in South Bend. It's probably a little too early to tell, but I do believe 2028 JSerra Catholic (Calif.) offensive lineman Lincoln Fa'alafi could become a name to follow. I think he left Notre Dame impressed and vice versa, so his interest is legit, but he also holds offers from UCLA and USC. Both programs are at war in the LA area and it'll be interesting to see where Notre Dame falls into that as time goes on. Top Notre Dame DE Target Visiting...Again
2028 Bergen Catholic (N.J.) defensive end Jackson Vaughn will be back in South Bend next weekend for the spring game. Vaughn has had an aggressive spring visit schedule as he's visited Alabama, Cal, Auburn, Miami, Texas A&M and was at Notre Dame last month. The Fighting Irish are the only program hosting him twice this spring, so that speaks volumes, as I believe Notre Dame led in his recruitment heading into this set of visits. Next weekend will be Vaughn's fourth trip to South Bend in total as he camped last summer and returned for a game in the fall. Another interesting tidbit I've learned is that Vaughn and 2027 defensive end Marcus Fakatou have become very good friends during the recruiting process as they've been on several visits at the same time. It's far from a package deal type of thing, but it could be something down the line to monitor. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18008781/6973e1c8b4632078464d3cf2Notre Dame Fighting Irish Under Armour Rival Stretch Woven Full-Zip Hoodie Jacket

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
