ISD Intel | Post-MSU Recruiting Updates
A special midweek edition of ISD Intel with updates on several important recruiting targets who were in South Bend this past weekend.
2028 S Geo McKnight Gets New Look At Notre Dame
2028 Ohio safety Geo McKnight returned to South Bend to see how the Irish coaches operate on gameday after earning his offer at camp this summer.
Post-Visit Update | 2028 S Geordan McKnight
Geordan McKnight came to Notre Dame on Saturday with a pretty specific objective. When the 2028 Ohio safety earned his offer during a camp visit in June, he told ISD he wanted to return for a game to see Notre Dame's routines and how the staff operated on Saturdays. He got that opportunity during the Irish's 27-10 win over Michigan State and came away impressed."At camp it was different," McKnight said. "They were just putting us through drills, but I really got to see them and how they coached their actual players today firsthand, how they operated on a game day."The Pickerington North standout spent time with head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive backs coach Aaron Henry and safeties coach Jevaughn Codlin during the visit. The staff continued explaining what it believes separates Notre Dame from other programs, particularly beyond football."How Notre Dame separates themselves by also giving you more opportunities than the rest of the schools," McKnight said. McKnight also enjoyed the opportunity to spend more time around Freeman, Henry and Codlin."Great people, obviously," he said. "They are who they are for a reason. High respect for them. Just really good coaches, really good men."The game-day environment made an impression as well."Atmosphere was crazy," McKnight said. "Notre Dame fans, insane. It was a crazy stadium atmosphere. It was really nice."The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder entered the visit with close to 30 offers, including Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Florida, Alabama and Texas among others.McKnight has already been busy this fall, attending Ohio State's opener before visiting Texas last weekend. He plans to be at USC next week and Penn State after that.Notre Dame should get another opportunity to host him as McKnight said he'll most likely return to South Bend for the Miami game.In the meantime, the plan is straightforward."Just keep communicating with the coaches," he said. "Just keep talking to them, go back up there. Keep learning."https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19499627/6a9bcb42aa043af497ed6e35

RB Ammar Banire The three-star back is an intriguing prospect as he had a big sophomore season and then put up a laser 4.37 and a 38-inch vertical this summer. He holds offers from Arkansas, Austin Peay, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Miami (OH), North Dakota, Northwestern, Ohio and Western Michigan. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/24458844/6aa8b04f7324a0437de85757WR2029 Battle Ground Academy (Tenn.) WR Maddox Porter The four-star prospect holds close to 40 offers, including Notre Dame. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder visited Notre Dame over the summer and left with an offer. Big-time prospect and Mike Brown is in on him early. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/26491413/68c890d57a6511b68ba7e32e2028 Northrop (Ind.) WR Maddox Weil The Fort Wayne native has been a priority target for Notre Dame during the offseason and will make his return to South Bend this weekend. Notre Dame is in his top group entering the fall and will be competing with Indiana and Ohio State. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/21782856/68ac4c645000976562fec4c82028 Morton (Ind.) WR KeiVon Mattox The Indy native holds an offer from Miami (OH) and visited Notre Dame last fall for a game. TE 2029 Westfield (Ind.) TE Caiden Snow It's not often Notre Dame offers tight ends early, but Snow seems like the ideal candidate as he holds over 30 offers. He's been to Notre Dame before so this could end up being a good weekend for the in-state prospect. OL2028 Carmel Catholic (Ill.) OL Wyatt VanBoening It will be back-to-back weekends VanBoening will be at Notre Dame, so that's likely a positive sign for Joe Rudolph. The Irish were a favorite to land him before last weekend, so a second trip in two weeks speaks volumes. DL 2028 The Woodlands (Texas) DL RJ Wyms Wyms will make his much anticipated trip to South Bend and he's the type of prospect Charlie Partridge has done well with before. Wyms is a bit undersized, but it'd be hard to find a more violent player in the country. He's got over 30 offers, including Notre Dame. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/23160520/6930f522ed300dee6cd272b12028 Warren (Ohio) DE Asa Burch The Michigan legacy has been a frequent visitor to Notre Dame over the last year, including a stop for Irish Invasion, where he worked out and already had an offer in hand. Ohio State had him work out at linebacker, so it speaks to his athleticism. This one will likely come down to Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/22802235/6a996ea66346fbb1262db7252028 Buford (Ga.) DL Luke Nabors It's been a minute since Notre Dame has hosted a player from Georgia powerhouse Buford, but that's where Notre Dame recruiting is at. Nabors is one of the top defensive linemen in the country, and this will be his first look at Notre Dame. He's another prospect who hold over 30 offers. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/22406990/694584fbec1607b3db0db79b2028 Muncie Central (Ind.) DE Demarshuwn Clemens The 6-foot-4, 262-pounder competed at Irish Invasion over the summer and is a name gaining some momentum this fall. Clemens holds offers from Cincinnati, FAU, Kansas, Miami (OH), Missouri and San Diego State. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/17895009/6a9ecee894335823c43a78cbLB2028 Servite (Calif.) LB Allen Kennett One of Notre Dame's top linebacker targets in 2028 will get on campus this weekend. Kennett will be one of the most coveted backers in the class, so this is a big visit. He's got all the West Coast offers already, so Notre Dame will need to make an impression this weekend. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/23081113/68bfbfc1e41754815a2824a1 2028 Carmel Catholic (Ill.) LB Jameer Miles Miles is another key linebacker target for Notre Dame and getting on campus early is a win. Miles holds offers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/23367421/69190185930670c0e479bf6cDB2028 Pickerington North (Ohio) S Geordan McKnight The Irish offered McKnight following camp in June, so he has a feel for what Notre Dame's staff and campus have to offer. It'll be a tough recruitment as he's in Ohio State's backyard and holds an offer from the Buckeyes, and then he's been offered by close to 30 other schools. Alabama and Texas both offered in the last month. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/19499627/6a9bcb42aa043af497ed6e352028 DeMatha (Md.) CB Langston Pridgeon The DeMatha star might be the top prospect on campus as he's flirting with five-star status. He holds close to 40 offers and has already been on campus so this will be a chance to solidify status in his recruitment. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/22681894/69418cab50525767939ea80eNotre Dame Fighting Irish Champion Operation Hat Trick Flag Hooded Long Sleeve T-Shirt
