Three names off the target list
We have removed 2020 safeties Chris Thompson and Kristian Story from the Target List as Notre Dame will turn its attention elsewhere. Thompson's recruitment had been trending this way for quite some time. Notre Dame wasn't alone in feeling Thompson was a little limited athletically, but also speed. The staff was able to watch him work out this spring and had their feelings confirmed along with multiple schools feeling the same. Story is somewhat in the same boat as Thompson. Notre Dame has a ton of tweeners between safety/rover/linebacker and Story would have fit into that group. 2020 defensive end Ben Yurosek is also off the Target List. Notre Dame will focus on Mitchell Melton to fill out the defensive line class as we've told you over the last week. Landing Jordan Botelho allows Notre Dame to be very selective at defensive line or even call it a class if Melton decided to go somewhere else.
Safe Travels | May 17 (ND Prospects Visiting Elsewhere)
With the initial rush of spring evaluation recruiting finished, more and more top prospects will be making visits to colleges in the coming weeks. Obviously, college coaches will continue hitting high schools during the week, but will be back in time to host any targets coming to campus. A couple schools namely Florida and Georgia are having massive recruiting events this week, but only a couple Notre Dame targets will be involved. Top Irish defensive line prospect Braiden McGregor will be in Gainesville this weekend for his second official visit of the process after taking an official to Notre Dame last month. The Gators don't appear to be as much of a threat to the Irish as Michigan, but McGregor said there was something about a quick visit to the Swamp back in March that piqued his interest, so Florida will take its shot. The Gators will also be hosting 2020 Texas cornerback Jahari Rogers, who was offered by Notre Dame back in April. This will be Rogers' second official as well after taking one to Arkansas earlier this month. Rogers has expressed a sincere interest in the Irish since the offer and it sounds like he wants to visit South Bend, although that may be later down the road. Georgia will be hosting another 2020 Texas defensive back on the Irish's Target List in Chris Thompson. The Duncanville standout had been considering a trip to Athens for the Bulldogs' huge visit weekend and we've confirmed he plans to make it. He took an official visit to Texas at the beginning of the month and has an official scheduled to Notre Dame for the Irish's big June 21st weekend. The Longhorns look to be the favorites coming out of his official to Austin, according to one source. With McGregor looking like potentially the final piece of Notre Dame's defensive line puzzle this cycle, there hasn't been much chatter about 2020 Massachusetts athlete Cam Large, who the Irish see as a defensive lineman. Cam Large also be in Athens this weekend. And 2020 Colorado offensive lineman Andrew Gentry, who is more like a 2022 prospect for numbers' sake because he plans to do a mission before enrolling at college, is expected to be at Michigan this weekend in advance of an official visit to Ann Arbor next month.

Another Top 2020 Safety Sets Notre Dame Visit
2020 Duncanville (Texas) safety Chris Thompson has set an official visit to Notre Dame for June 21-23. The four-star prospect is considered a Texas lean, but he has always spoken highly of the Irish program and remained firm throughout his process that Notre Dame would get a visit. Thompson was at Auburn last weekend and will be in Austin on May 4th. Junior Highlights https://www.hudl.com/video/3/8154216/59de34075b47bd0d38a334de
