The Latest On OL Jimmy Christ
As we told you, 2020 Virginia OL Jimmy Christ took his final official visit this past weekend to Virginia. He'd already taken officials to Notre Dame and Oklahoma earlier this month. He said after those trips, he'd likely go into decision mode and that's where he is now.At this point, I expect him to stay home and choose the Cavaliers. I do know he loves Notre Dame and Jeff Quinn, but I think the comfort factor, especially with his brother playing in Charlottesville will be too much for the Irish to overcome in the end. We'll see.

Safe Travels | Notre Dame Prospect Visiting Elsewhere
It's a light weekend for visits around the country, but one of Notre Dame's top 2020 targets will be on campus elsewhere.

Safe Travels | Key Notre Dame Prospect Visiting Elsewhere This Weekend
With spring practice completed for most programs and college coaches already having hit the road for the Evaluation Period, there aren't many major campus visits occurring this weekend. There is one key visit Notre Dame fans will want to keep an eye on though. Virginia's spring game is on Saturday and the Cavaliers will be hosting Jimmy Christ. The 2020 Virginia offensive lineman is one of the top players on Notre Dame's board and this is likely to be his final trip before making a decision. The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder has already taken official visits to Notre Dame and Oklahoma this month and while he hasn't publicly declared an announcement date, he's repeatedly said he expects to go into decision-making mode following the trip to Charlottesville. Christ comes from a football family, having a dad who played at Navy and three older brothers who played college football. One of those older brothers, Tommy, plays for the Cavaliers. After redshirting as a freshman, Tommy appeared in eight games, starting three, as a defensive lineman for Virginia this past season. That connection certainly helps the in-state school in this race, but everybody we've talked to, including Jimmy, has told us that won't be a deciding factor in his decision. After the official to South Bend, Christ told ISD that the visit was "great." He felt very comfortable on campus, with offensive line coach Jeff Quinn and the current Irish offensive linemen. He said Notre Dame "definitely" helped itself and that it was a school where he could see himself. But, he said similar things about the Sooners following that trip and we already know there is an added comfort level with Virginia. Notre Dame is in a good spot here with Christ, but it's not done yet.

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
