On 2019 OL Walter Rouse
2019 OL Walter Rouse tells me he will be in South Bend this weekend. Big news as the Irish benefit from the NCAA granting a waiver that allowed him to take an official visit this weekend.

On the NCAA waiver....
If you didn't see Christian's update on Cornelius Johnson (Update On 2019 WR Cornelius Johnson's Potential Official UPDATED) the NCAA has granted a waiver for prospects to take official visits this weekend if their high school has not started yet. Cornelius Johnson and Walter Rouse were impacted by the old official visit rules where classes had to be in session at the high school involved. Prospects could OVs in June for the first time this year and the fall visit rules were likely just an oversight in the whole remodel. I reached out to Rouse to see if he was going to make it but he hasn't responded yet. The NCAA just cleared it around an hour ago.

Quick Updates: 2019 OL Walter Rouse and 2021 WR Lorenzo Styles Jr.
2019 offensive lineman Walter Rouse visited Notre Dame in June for an unofficial visit and quickly set up an official visit for the Michigan game. Well, Rouse tells me that visit is now off due to NCAA rules. There is a rule where a school has to be in session for a prospect to take an official visit. Sidwell Friends School, one of the top academic high schools in the country, doesn't start classes until September 4th. Rouse is looking to reschedule the date as he wants to get to South Bend. There is good news as I caught up with 2021 Pickerington Central (Ohio) receiver Lorenzo Styles Jr. today and he is planning on being in South Bend for the Michigan game. If you remember back to June, Styles attended the second Elite Skills Camp and left with an offer from Notre Dame after running a 4.43 in front of the Irish staff. National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Notre Dame and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Notre Dame and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
