The Latest | 2022 RB Emeka Megwa
2022 Timber Creek (Texas) RB Emeka Megwa did make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame earlier this week for camp. The four-star prospect was able to work out for Lance Taylor and Tommy Rees, which is what the Notre Dame staff wanted as Megwa is coming off a knee injury. This was a trip Megwa wanted to take and do more than the Notre Dame staff was pushing for at this point in time. I think Megwa wants to try to show programs what he can do right now after the injury. I do believe the Notre Dame staff likes Megwa's personality and fit off the field, but as of now, the Irish are focused on other options in Dallan Hayden, Nicholas Singleton and Gavin Sawchuck. Right now, Notre Dame is in an absolute dog fight for Hayden with Ohio State and Penn State for Singleton as he'll be on campus this weekend. As we said earlier this spring, Notre Dame could move on Megwa in the fall if they strike out on the Hayden, Singleton and Sawchuck. But not sure it's something worth following at this point.

2023 RB Checks Out ND
2022 Texas RB Emeka Megwa was in South Bend on MondU send Tuesday for an unofficial visit. ☘️ pic.twitter.com/0zP8iOBiaT— Emeka ⁶ (@Emeka_Megwa) June 16, 2021 Megwa was offered by the Irish early in the process, but eventually he fell behind guys like Singleton, Hayden & Sawchuk in the pecking order. Still, there's obviously some mutual interest given the trip. According to Megwa, all went well in South Bend as he was extremely impressed with everything he saw at ND athletically and academically. He's already taken a visit to Missouri and has a few other trips planned this month. After that, he plans to make a decision and says the Irish are "up there."

National Average Rating

The National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a Irish Sports Daily rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the Irish Sports Daily Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide Irish Sports Daily readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.
