Nick Coleman struggled at corner as a sophomore, but found new life at safety as a junior. He started for the Irish and was solid. He just never emerged to be more than that so it was pretty clear he was going to have to be better as a senior.

It got off to a rocky start in the spring for him working with new safeties coach Terry Joseph. Joseph gave everyone a fresh start and Coleman found himself running with third team at safety by the time fall camp rolled around.
