Notre Dame RB Jahmir Smith Breaks Hand

Multiple sources have told Irish Sports Daily sophomore running back Jahmir Smith broke his hand during the opening days of fall camp. 

While not the greatest of news for the Irish, I’m told Smith practiced Tuesday and Wednesday with a cast and is still full-go. Smith was named Player of the Day on Tuesday by head coach Brian Kelly, which is easy to see why after factoring in the injury. 

Smith entered fall camp coming off an impressive Blue-Gold game in the spring where he ran eight times for 56 yards and touchdowns while adding 37 receiving yards on three receptions.
 
The North Carolina native also appeared in two games last fall carrying six times for 28 yards and catching an Ian Book flip for 14 yards against Stanford.
