Irish Sports Daily has learned from multiple sources that Notre Dame freshman offensive lineman Quinn Carroll suffered a significant knee injury in practice and is expected to miss the 2019 season.
The 6-foot-7, 304-pounder enrolled in January and participated in spring football for the Irish.
The Minnesota native worked at right tackle in the spring, but took reps at left tackle the first day of fall camp.
Carroll was a four-star prospect coming out of high school and chose Notre Dame over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, USC, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.
