BREAKING | Kevin Austin Expected To Miss The 2019 season

Irish Sports Daily has confirmed that Notre Dame wide receiver Kevin Austin will not play for the Irish in 2019.

A sophomore from Florida, Austin’s status has been up in the air for months, as there were rumblings of a four-game suspension dating back to the early spring, but multiple sources confirmed with ISD that Austin is not expected to suit up this fall.

ISD’s Matt Freeman hinted at Austin being suspended for a different amount of time than other outlets were stating about a week ago.

Austin caught five passes for 90 yards as a freshman.

His status with the team throughout the offseason seemed to mirror the status of former Notre Dame players who had sat out the first four games of the season in years past.

Austin’s absence is the latest blow to the Irish’s pass-catching group as he joins receiver Michael Young and tight end Cole Kmet, who both suffered collar bone injuries in camp that will keep them out for the start of the season.

The next step for Austin isn’t immediately clear, but we believe he knew about this prior to the start of fall camp.
