2021 OL Beau Stephens On Upcoming Notre Dame Visit: It's Going To Be Great
Beau Stephens could have started packing for the trip as soon as he told his parents he had been invited to any Notre Dame game this fall.
“They were like, ‘It’s not if we go. It’s when we go,’” the 2021 Missouri offensive lineman laughs.
“They were shocked and happy that Notre Dame reached out.”
The when is set as Stephens will be in South Bend on Saturday for the Irish’s home game against Virginia.
“It’s going to be great,” the Blue Springs High School standout said.
Stephens already has offers from Missouri, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa and Iowa State.
He was excited to hear from Notre Dame, the alma mater of Quenton Nelson.
“He’s one of my favorite football players ever,” Stephens says. “I was like, ‘Wow! Quenton Nelson went to this school and they’re reaching out.’
“I know they are literally one of the best places for offensive linemen, one of the three or four schools that really produce offensive linemen…They do a great job. Their offensive linemen are spectacular players.”
Stephens is looking forward learning more about Notre Dame this weekend.
“I just want to learn as much as I can about the tradition and how they are as people, the kind of offense they run and their attitude toward me,” he says.
He’s already taken trips to Kansas State and Iowa State this fall.
“I have some other places I’m going after Notre Dame this weekend,” he explains. “I’m going to Iowa on the 12th of October. The 5th of October, I’m going to Mizzou. KU, I’m going on the 2nd of November and Nebraska, I’m going on the 26th of October.”
Connections will be key when Stephens has to make a final decision.
“Having a good relationship with the coaches, the offensive line coach and the head coach. I think it’s really important that a coach really cares about you.”
