2021 OL Michael McLaughlin Makes Most Of Midwest Return
Michael McLaughlin made the most of his trip back to Indiana.
The 2021 offensive lineman moved from Danville, Ind., to Parkland, Fla., last year.
This weekend, he returned to Indiana. He got to reconnect with some friends on Friday before heading to South Bend on Saturday for Notre Dame’s game against Virginia.
“It was a great experience,” McLaughlin told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I loved it. The atmosphere there, there was so much energy during the game.
“It’s a beautiful campus and there’s so much history behind all of it.”
The facilities also stood out to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School standout.
“All of the facilities are recently renovated,” he said. “It’s just amazing. It’s just really cool to possibly have an opportunity to be a part of that.”
He had the chance to speak with Irish offensive line coach Jeff Quinn “for quite a while.”
“He said he loved my frame and my size and really wanted to stay in touch,” McLaughlin said of Quinn.
“He seems really ecstatic about his job and I like that a lot.”
McLaughlin said he plans in keeping in touch “for sure.”
“I don’t have anything else planned right now, but I think it’s safe to say I’ll definitely be back at some point,” he said, while adding he has plenty of reasons to continue returning to Indiana in the future.
