Even after having his game moved from Friday night to Saturday morning, JoJo Johnson‍ still managed to make it up to South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against Virginia on Saturday afternoon.

The 2021 Indiana wide receiver helped lead his Morton High School team to a blowout victory over Gavit High School, scoring three touchdowns (along with two more that were called back) and 137 all-purpose yards.

Then, he hit the road to get to the Irish’s game.

“It went real well,” he said of the unofficial visit. “It was very nice. The game was exciting. The environment was very nice and the crowd was insane.”

The campus also stood out.

“It was really nice,” the Hammond, Ind., native said. “There were a lot of old buildings, but it was beautiful. It was nice.”

He didn’t get a chance to see much of the facilities, “but from what I heard, they’re nice.”

“I was able to talk to them after the game.”

After the game, the 5-foot-11, 170-pounder had the chance to speak with Irish wide receivers coach Del Alexander.

“We were talking about my film and how he likes it,” Johnson said of Alexander. “He said if I keep doing what I’m doing I could potentially get an offer from Notre Dame.

“It felt real good.”

Johnson already has offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Toledo.

He’s considering visits to Toledo, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green and Indiana this fall and said he could be back in South Bend next month for the Irish’s game against USC.
