Jacory Mooring‍ made the trip up to South Bend for Notre Dame’s game against Bowling Green on Saturday and the 2021 Texas wide receiver got a good look at the program.

“It was good,” the Lubbock native told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “It was real nice.”

“They had me go through measurements when I got there. Then, I met the recruiting director. After that, they gave me a tour of all of the facilities and the trophy rooms, film rooms, recovery areas and all of that.”

The Monterey High School standout was impressed with the facilities.

“It was real nice,” he said. “It was probably the best facility I’ve seen so far.”

After touring the locker room and returning to the lounge, the visitors went through the pregame walk with the players to get into Notre Dame Stadium.

Mooring, who has an early offer from Kansas, met Director of Recruiting Aaryn Kearney.

“He said, ‘I hope you like it here,’” Mooring said of what Kearney told him.

The Irish certainly performed well in their 52-0 rout of Bowling Green. Mooring paid attention to more than just the receivers.

“Their o-line is real nice, they give their quarterback a lot of time to look at all of his receivers and go through his progressions,” he said.

After the game, the visitors were able to go inside the locker room to hear Brian Kelly address the team. Mooring had the chance to speak with Irish receivers coach Del Alexander.

“He was asking if I enjoyed the game and this and that,” recalled Mooring. “He just asked me if I enjoyed experience and I told him I did and that it was real nice.”

He plans on keeping in touch with Notre Dame and returning in the future.

“They send me a lot of things like camp invites,” Mooring said. “I’ll try to come back real soon because it was real nice.”

The Irish staff told the visitors not to worry about who had offers and who didn’t at the moment and to instead focus on whether they thought Notre Dame was a place they could see themselves.

“I could see myself playing there, but I’ve got to see other colleges,” Mooring acknowledged. “I still haven’t seen Kansas yet, so I can’t make that type of decision right now.

“That’s probably one of the top schools I could see myself playing at.”
