2022 CB Isaiah Bond Returns To Notre Dame, Impressed Again
Isaiah Bond camped at Notre Dame this summer and the 2022 Georgia cornerback returned on Saturday to see the Irish play Virginia Tech.
“It went good,” Bond told Irish Sports Daily afterward. “I kind of came late because my flight was delayed, but my overall experience was good.
“I got to get on the field, sit up close, go to the lounge and after the game, I went to the locker room.”
The Buford High School standout who has an early offer from Nebraska added, “Everything was great.”
There wasn’t much need for Bond to get a full tour of campus on Saturday.
“I came down a couple months ago, so I saw the campus then,” he explained. “(Campus) is really nice.
“(Camp) went great in my opinion.”
Bond also enjoyed himself on Saturday, especially the chance to go inside the locker room after the Irish’s 21-20 win over the Hokies.
“The experience was great,” he said. “They were in there dancing. Coach gave a great speech.”
The sophomore defensive back had the chance to speak with Irish safeties coach Terry Joseph during the visit.
“He remembered me from camp and said, ‘Just keep your head up, keep your game. I expect big things from you in the future,’” Bond said of the message from Joseph.
Bond wants to continue moving forward with Notre Dame.
“I just really like the school,” he said. “The atmosphere is really nice.
“I plan on trying to make it to another game and keep in touch with the coaches.”
Bond doesn’t really feel the need to see or learn a whole lot more about Notre Dame.
“The only thing I could think of is meeting the head coach,” he said. “That’s about all I can think of because I really have a good experience every time I come.”
He doesn’t have any other trips planned at the moment, but has a good idea of what will be most important to his ultimate decision.
“Number one, good education. Good education and good sports with a good coaching staff.”
