The Virginia Tech game continued a trend of strange results for Notre Dame’s offense this season. The only thing the offense had done consistently well in 2019 was score once they got to the red zone. This game flipped that and it almost cost the Irish a win.

They had six trips to the red zone compared to Virginia Tech’s two and managed to only win by one point.

Ian Book and the offense scored when it mattered the most and overcame quite a bit of adversity to do so.
