Duke’s defense came in playing really good football before they played Notre Dame. The team might have been on a skid, but the defense gave them a chance in every game.

They were top-25 in the month of October in yards per play and that was entirely against ACC teams. With a week off for extra preparation, it looked like this could be a low scoring game.

It didn’t turn out that way.
