2022 DB Trevon Howard Learns About Notre Dame, Plans To Learn More
Trevon Howard got to see, hear and learn about Notre Dame during the 2022 Minnesota defensive back’s trip to South Bend on Saturday and he was impressed.
“It was exciting,” the 6-foot, 175-pound sophomore said. “I liked the atmosphere. Coach (Brian) Kelly seemed cool at the end of the game.”
Before the game, the Minnehaha standout was able to check out the athletic complex.
“I toured the Gug,” Howard said. “I saw the locker room at the Gug and the locker room at the stadium and the athletic field and stuff. It was nice. I liked it.”
Howard has early offers from Minnesota and Iowa State.
He was impressed with the Irish’s performance in their 52-20 win over Navy.
“I like the way their defense showed discipline against the veer,” he explained. “The crowd was pretty hype.”
While in town, Howard had the chance to speak with defensive backs coaches Todd Lyght and Terry Joseph.
“The secondary coach came to me and said there were the things I could control, not to compare myself to other people and to trust the process,” said Howard.
Howard hopes to return to South Bend/
“I’d like to be back in the spring for a junior day or something, but I don’t know yet,” he said. “I’d like to meet the coaches a little bit more, see some of the academic stuff, stuff like that.”
He doesn’t have any other visits locked in at this point, but knows what he’s looking for in a college.
“Academics, graduation rate and I have to have a good relationship with the coach.”
