Notre Dame’s offense played very well on Saturday, but nobody beats Navy the way the Irish did unless their defense controls the game.

That’s exactly what Clark Lea’s group did. The numbers in non-garbage time were phenomenal.

Navy had 187 yards (4.16 per play) while Malcolm Perry was still in the game. 46 of them came on one play.

They were two of nine on 3rd down and if you include 4th down, they were 3 of 11 on those plays.
