2022 ATH Isaac Thompson Ready To See Dream School In Notre Dame
Isaac Thompson has been waiting to get to Notre Dame for a game for a long time and that wait will come to an end on Saturday, when the 2022 St. Louis athlete visits for the Irish’s home finale against Boston College.
“I’m really excited,” he told Irish Sports Daily. “It’s going to be a great time.”
The St. Louis University High School defensive back/receiver already has offers from Missouri and Arizona. He said he’s looking forward to meeting the staff in South Bend.
“The coaches seem great,” said Thompson, who also noted that he’s excited to see the atmosphere for the game.
Notre Dame is a school that has had his attention for a long time.
“I love it,” he said. “I love that school so much. It’s been my dream school for I don’t know how long, so I’ll be really happy if they offer me.”
He said the culture and the environment “seem amazing.”
“The school overall is just an amazing school,” he continued. “I’ve watched a lot of their games. I’m really interested in the school. I think they’ve had a really good season. They’re just a really good team and I like how they play. It’s a great school.”
Because he’s just a sophomore, contact with college coaches is limited, but Irish assistant Todd Lyght has been in contact with Thompson’s coach, Mike Jones. Lyght and Jones spent time playing together in the NFL.
“He says they really like me a lot,” Thompson said.
Thompson was at Iowa last week for the Hawkeyes’ victory over previously unbeaten Minnesota.
“It was a really big game, I liked it a lot up there. It was a really nice school.”
