2022 ATH Kenny Soares Says Notre Dame Would Be "Dream Come True"
Kenny Soares made the trip to the Midwest to see Notre Dame this weekend and the 2022 Connecticut athlete could be back again next year.
“It went well,” the 6-foot-3, 218-pound sophomore said. “I had a good time at the game. I met with the coaches, some of the players.
“The campus was really nice. The indoor facility, they just updated it earlier this year, that was really nice. I liked the locker room a lot, the area they have there is really nice.”
The Avon Old Farms School standout has early offers from UConn and Rutgers.
He was impressed with the atmosphere inside Notre Dame Stadium for this year’s home finale.
“Their student section is great there,” said Soares. “It was definitely a loud game and I like it like that.”
Soares, who could play linebacker or tight end at the next level, also enjoyed watching the Irish defeat Boston College 40-7 and could see himself fitting in on either side of the ball in South Bend.
“I think me playing there would be like a dream come true,” he said. “I think the scheme would fit me pretty well whether I’d play offense or defense.
“I think they’re a nice offensive team and they like to get after it on defense.”
During the trip, Soares had the chance to speak with Irish defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Clark Lea.
“He was just telling me that I should come to camp this summer,” recalled Soares, who thinks he’ll be able to come back.
Next up though, is a trip to Syracuse next weekend.
