2023 QB Grayson Loftis Checks Out Notre Dame, Expects To Return For Camp
Grayson Loftis got a chance to check out Notre Dame this weekend and the 2023 South Carolina quarterback is likely to be back to see more…and show more.
“It was awesome,” the 6-foot-2, 175-pound freshman told Irish Sports Daily after the visit. “I enjoyed myself and had a lot of fun.
“We toured the locker room before and after the game. We saw the indoor football complex and we saw the athletic complex.”
The Blue Ridge High School standout has an early offer from Georgia, which he received this past summer.
Loftis was impressed with everything he saw in South Bend on Saturday.
“It was awesome,” he said. “I had a lot of fun seeing all of the people, meeting new people. I also thought the facilities were very nice.
“I enjoyed it. The fans were awesome. The atmosphere was awesome; a little chilly, but it was OK.”
He liked what he saw from Notre Dame’s offense during the Irish’s 40-7 win over Boston College.
“I loved it,” he said. “It’s very simple, but works if that makes sense.”
While in town, he had the chance to meet Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Tom Rees.
“He just introduced himself and made a connection,” Loftis explained. “He seemed like a nice guy, a guy that I’d like a lot. Seemed like he knew what he was doing.”
Loftis may head to South Carolina next week for the Gamecocks’ regular season finale against Clemson.
He does expect to stay in contact with Notre Dame and should be back on campus next summer.
“The next step from our end will probably be coming to camp and then going from there.”
