2022 QB Peter Delaportas Enjoys Notre Dame Visit

November 26, 2019

2022 Pope John XXIII (N.J.) quarterback Peter Delaportas‍ made the trip to South Bend over the weekend and it met his expectations.

"It was good," stated Delaportas. "It was a nice campus and I enjoyed it a lot."

The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder enjoyed the game, but also the time before the game as he got to learn more about the program.

"Before the game, Aaryn Kearney, brought us in the practice facility and we saw a presentation," recalled Delaportas. "Kyle Rudolph was there and gave a speech and answered questions.

"We got some good and then we got to go on the sideline to see warmups."

The chance to hear from Rudolph was one of the highlights of trip as the NFL star was able to share his experience at Notre Dame with all the recruits.

"It was a great experience," Delaportas said. "He went to Notre Dame and talked about the brotherhood, locker room and the school. He covered it all and it was really good."

The Irish offense took a little time to get going on Saturday, but Delaportas left impressed with what he saw.

"I liked it a lot," Delaportas said of the offense. "It was a fast-moving offense and they made a lot of big plays. They kept on punching them in the mouth, which is really good to see.

"I could see myself playing in that offense."

Delaportas is just starting his recruitment and already holds four offers.

"I have offers from Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Boston College and Kentucky," Delaportas stated.

"We're going down next week to Kentucky."

As for his upcoming schedule, Delaportas will head to Lexington, but after that, he'll be taking some time away from recruiting.

"During the winter, I'm going to shut it down," Delaportas explained. "I wrestle, so I'm going to focus on that.

"In the spring, I'm going to go to some college camps. I'm going to go to Miami and maybe to Ohio State and Michigan."

Would Delaportas like to return to Notre Dame?
