Notre Dame Will Face Iowa State in the Camping World Bowl
It’s camping bowl season for Notre Dame and the Fighting Irish are headed back to Orlando.
No. 15 Notre Dame will face off against Iowa State in the Camping World Bowl at Camping World Stadium.
The Fighting Irish do have a history in the stadium as Notre Dame beat LSU in the 2018 Citrus Bowl.
It will be the first meeting between the two programs on the gridiron as the Cyclones will become the 148th different opponent to face Notre Dame. The Irish hold a 122-22-3 (.840) record against first-time opponents. Notre Dame earned victories over debut opponents New Mexico and Bowling Green earlier this season.
Brian Kelly will lead Notre Dame into his ninth bowl game with the Irish.
Notre Dame is 4-4 under Kelly in bowl games. Wins coming against LSU (twice), Miami and Rutgers and losses to Alabama, Clemson Florida State and Ohio State.
Iowa State is led by head coach Matt Campbell and quarterback Brock Purdy.
The Cyclones are 4-10 in bowl games since 1971 and 1-1 under Campbell. Iowa State lost 28-26 to Washington State in the Alamo Bowl and defeated Memphis 21-20 in the Liberty Bowl a year prior.
