Recruitment Rundown
Notre Dame offered Johnson in January of 2018 and the Irish were able to get the St. Louis star on campus for a Junior Day that March. He was impressed and it was obvious the Irish were among serious contenders from that point forward. But that became even clearer in January of 2019, when Johnson cancelled a visit to Alabama to take another to South Bend.
Johnson returned for an official visit in April and didn’t leave before offering his pledge to the Irish over offers from the Crimson Tide, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Texas among many others.
De Smet Head Coach Robert Steeples
“I think Jordan’s a kid who can line up anywhere, which is why he’s such a highly-touted prospect. He can stretch you vertically, he can create separation with his route-running ability, but he can also take a short pass to the house with his change of direction and ball-carrier vision. It’s really just how they deem him best fit.”
ISD Expert Jamie Uyeyama
Johnson has legitimate All-American potential if he develops his all-around game because he has the long speed to be a consistent big play producer for the Irish. I wouldn’t quite put him in the Michael Floyd category as a prospect, but he’s not far off and is probably better suited for today’s college football where explosive plays are more valuable than gold.

“I think I’m going to be cancelling the ‘Bama trip and probably make it over to South Bend.”
