Recruitment Rundown
Notre Dame wasn’t chasing many senior prospects throughout the fall and went months without receiving a 2020 commitment simply because there weren’t many uncommitted targets left on the board. Henderson was one of the very few Irish prospects who felt the need to let the process play out until the end, which was his plan from the start. Henderson was stunned to learn Notre Dame was offering back in May and it immediately became a school that he knew would have his attention throughout. He built a solid relationship with both Todd Lyght and Terry Joseph over the course of months.

An official visit in September made an even larger impression and Notre Dame appeared to have a substantial advantage over schools like Utah, Cal and Oklahoma. He toyed with the idea of taking more officials in the final weeks, but behind the scenes, it was clear he’d settled on Notre Dame. He made that public and official on National Signing Day.

Henderson may be the most intriguing athlete out of everyone in Notre Dame's class. He has legit elite speed. That combined with his size and ball skills make it easy to see why the coaching staff wanted him, but he's much better as a receiver than a defensive back right now.

He's raw with his technique, but if the staff can refine his skills at cornerback, his ceiling is sky high.
