BREAKING | 2020 CB Ramon Henderson Commits To Notre Dame

Ramon Henderson‍ always maintained he wouldn’t make a decision – or at least announce a decision – until the end of the recruiting process.

The 2020 California cornerback stuck to that pledge, but he also chose the school many expected him to choose, announcing his commitment to Notre Dame on Wednesday, National Signing Day,

“It’s hard a place to turn down,” Henderson told Irish Sports Daily prior to announcing his decision publicly.

Instead, Henderson turned down offers from schools like Oklahoma, Utah and Cal among others.

Notre Dame offered Henderson a scholarship back in May and he knew it was going to be a school he looked at closely throughout the process.

An official visit to South Bend at the end of September helped get an even better feel for Notre Dame as a school and a program.

“They have a lot of opportunities on and off the field,” Henderson said prior to his announcement. “They have a great coaching staff and great people all around and it’s a great culture.”

Irish defensive backs coaches Todd Lyght and Terry Joseph stayed on Henderson for months and their persistence paid off.

The Liberty High School standout feels comfortable with his choice because of what it will mean for his future.

“You can always get something good out of there,” he added. “You don’t hear about a lot of people going to Notre Dame and coming out the same as they were before. It’s just a great place in general overall.

“Obviously it’s a place I can see myself going and not only growing as a player, but also as a human being and a man and putting myself in the best position.”

Henderson is the 18th member of the Irish’s 2020 recruiting class. He joins cornerbacks Caleb Offord, Clarence Lewis and Landen Bartleson to make up the secondary of the group.
