Everyone knows that special teams can swing a game in one direction or another and it did for the Irish in 2019. Once it went the wrong way against Michigan, but then it went back the other way against Stanford.

Jonathan Jones making the mistake of trying to jump on the football after a deflected punt by Bo Bauer turned a three-and-out by the defense into a scoring drive for Michigan. Isaiah Foskey’s blocked punt turned into a touchdown for the Irish against Stanford.
