Earlier this month, Notre Dame defensive pass game coordinator Terry Joseph reached out to Jaden Slocum‍ to inform the 2021 Georgia safety that he had a scholarship offer from the Irish.

“Coach Joseph contacted me and we talked over the phone,” the Alpharetta High School standout said.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pounder also counts Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Stanford and others among his current offers, but was still fired up about adding the Irish to that list.

“I was extremely excited when he shared the news with me, as I knew Notre Dame has excellent academics and athletics,” he said.

The staff at Alpharetta encourage their players to be heavily involved with whatever sport they’re competing in throughout the year and for Slocum, right now, that’s track, which will take precedent over college visits.

“For now, my family and I are working out when and what visits will be possible, due to my hectic school and track schedule,” Slocum said.

He isn’t about to start announcing his leaders right now, but does have an idea of what he’s looking for in a school and it sounds like Notre Dame could make a strong argument.

“At this point, I’m not ready to make my top schools public, but my final decision will be based on the academics of the university and then their respective football program.”
