After checking out Notre Dame back in the fall, Aidan Hubbard‍ is ready to return to South Bend and the 2021 Ohio linebacker will do just that for the Irish’s Junior Day on Feb. 1st.

“I visited for the game against Boston College,” the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder said. “I talked to some of the coaches. They liked my film and wanted me to get back out for a Junior Day.”

The St. Ignatius High School standout wanted to get back as well.

“I’d like to see more of the facilities and stadium and to get a feel for what everyday life is like for a student-athlete and also learn more about their academics and how time is budgeted for the players,” he said.

His previous visit to Notre Dame has made a substantial impression on Hubbard, which is one reason why he’s so excited to get back.

“The biggest is the way it feels when I’m up there,” he said. “It almost feels like there’s a little magic in the air and the culture is so great. When I was up there for the gameday visit, it was a ton of fun.”

The Cleveland native currently has offers from schools like Purdue, Minnesota, Toledo, Akron and Penn.

“It’s kind of surreal, but I feel like I’ve earned it,” Hubbard said. “Not to sound cocky or anything, but I feel like I’ve put in the work the past three years to get where I’m at now.

“It’s awesome to be in this spot with so many great schools recruiting me. They like my versatility and my ability to get from sideline to sideline quickly and attack the ball, lining up in so many different spots on my film like edge rusher, outside linebacker and even sometimes safety.”

Hubbard visited Toledo earlier this week and has plans to be at Akron this weekend.

He has a good idea of what he’s looking for when it comes to picking a college.

“The relationship I’ve built with the coaches and the way I feel when I’m on campus somewhere are probably the biggest things.

“First and foremost is the education piece. 40 years after football is over, what I’m going to be able to do with the degree is probably the most important thing I’m looking for in the school I choose.”
