2021 Safety Cole Bishop Looking Forward To Notre Dame Trip
Cole Bishop has had some preliminary conversation with Notre Dame on social media and it’s resulted in the 2021 Georgia safety set to travel to South Bend for the Irish’s Junior Day this weekend.
“We started talking and it kind of went from there,” the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder said. “I’m really excited to get out there.
“They told me they’re interested. Coach said that he likes that I’m a physical player. They did seem very interested and I’m hopeful it all works out when I get there.”
Bishop is coming into the visit with a strong impression of Notre Dame.
“It’s a really traditional school,” he said. “My dad knows a lot about them. They have a really good football team and a great education. I’d like to get up there and have the chance to have an opportunity to play there.”
The Starrs Mill High School standout is particularly looking forwarding to seeing the facilities.
“I went last summer to camp and I really liked it,” he said. “I really just want to see more in-depth. The indoor facility wasn’t completed then, so I’d like to see that.”
The Fayetteville, Ga., native currently has five offers, including scholarship offers from Georgia Tech and Duke.
“I’m really excited,” he said of the interest. “I’m just glad everything I’ve done and all of the hard work is starting to pay off now.”
He’s made visits to Georgia Tech, Duke, Princeton and Samford so far.
“I think the school I pick will have a big impact on how it’ll help my life after football, the education and the coaches and everything.”
