Top 2022 Safety Braelon Allen Will Return to Notre Dame Soon
2022 Fond Du Lac (Wis.) safety Braelon Allen is no stranger to Notre Dame as Saturday was his third visit since the summer.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder got his first in-depth look at the program and left dazzled by Notre Dame.
"I was impressed with everything I saw and heard today," Allen stated. "I had a great time and I'm surely going to be back sometime in the spring."
The four-star prospect was able to spend time with Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly, defensive coordinator Clark Lea and safeties coach Terry Joseph.
Allen's time with Lea and Joseph was significant as NCAA rules limit communication with 2022 prospects, so it was a chance for the relationship to grow.
"The overall message from Coach Joseph and Coach Lea was to keep grinding," explained Allen. "They want me to keep my head on the straight and narrow because they believe I could be a great player at Notre Dame."
It's clear Allen is a big safety with ball skills and while the Irish didn't tell him about a future position, the Wisconsin native did spend time with the secondary.
"I didn't really get to ask about how they saw me being used in the defense," said Allen. "I assume they see me at safety since I was in a defensive backs meeting."
Allen was also able to pick the brain of Notre Dame early enrollee Ramon Henderson.
"I didn't get to speak with any of the commits," Allen stated. "I did talk to one early enrollee and I just asked him why he decided to come all the way out to Indiana."
As for a potential commitment, Allen said there was little thought of making a commitment on Saturday.
"No thoughts really on committing today."
