Expectations were very high for the 2019 Notre Dame offensive line with four starters returning. At the halfway point of the regular season, it looked like those expectations were going to be met.

Through six games the running game was average 5.3 yards per carry, despite not having an explosive option in the backfield. The pass protection was very consistently good as well. After USC, when the team rushed for over 300 yards, it looked like the line was beginning to gel.
