Graham Excited By Offer, Ready To See ND
Last Wednesday, that offer came for the 2017 California cornerback.
“I called Coach (Mike) Sanford and we talked on the phone,” the 5-foot-11, 175-pounder from Rancho Cucamonga said.
“Before I hung up, he said he would like to offer me a scholarship.”
Sanford explained the Irish staff was impressed with the Rancho Cucamonga’s junior season highlights.
“He said he reviewed my film and gave it to the defensive coaches,” Graham said. “He said they really liked my game and how I play. He wants me to take a visit out there.”
Graham, who committed to USC back in July, also has offers from schools like UCLA, Cal, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah and Oklahoma among others. Since making his pledge to the Trojans, Graham is now calling it a “soft commitment,” saying USC is essentially his leader.
The offer from Notre Dame was one he wanted because of his respect for the school’s tradition and history.
“I was happy,” he said. “It was right before I went to school and I was very excited. It started my day off good.”
He immediately made plans to get to South Bend for the Irish’s Junior Day on March 19th.
“I just want to see how it is,” said Graham. “I want to see if I’m comfortable there, do I like it there.”
He visited Utah this past weekend for the second time.
“I went there last year at the same time, so it was very good to go back and talk to the coaches again,” he said.
He’ll make another trip this weekend.
“I’m going to SC’s Junior Day this Saturday and then we’re going to plan more visits out according to the schedule,” he said. “I know I’m going to head up to UCLA because it’s another hometown school.”
Graham plans on being a package deal with 2017 California running back Stephen Carr, who is also a “soft commit” to USC right now. Carr landed an offer from Notre Dame earlier this month.
