Stop By The Saloon

Well, it’s been an eventful week in sports even as events were canceled at an extraordinary pace.

While all of the news surrounding Notre Dame Football, Irish Basketball, the NCAA and sports in general can be found on the Members Board, there was still plenty of action back in The Saloon, ISD’s new message board devoted to just about everything else (with the exception of politics).

One of the most important threads of the week involved members telling Christian how crazy he was to even thinking about getting on a cruise ship in a few weeks given his situation. He’ll tell you he was going to cancel anyway, but it would be hard for him to deny the nwdomer’s plea didn’t help put things in perspective.

“Stepping on a cruise ship is begging to be quarantined - at best - for a few weeks. At worst, you get the virus - risking your own health and everyone you know. Christian, with asthma, this seems like a crazy risk you're taking.”

Also, prayers up for nwdomer and his family, who are in one of the hottest spots in the country right now for Covid-19.

Obviously, Coronavirus has been the main topic everywhere this week, including the Members Board, but blitz shared an interesting article highlighting the reasons why social distancing is being pitched as such an important piece of this puzzle.

A couple threads that were started earlier have continued to establish traction, including ruend’s asking for your “Favorite Underrated (stooped) Comedies.” Plenty of good calls in there and plenty of older members dating themselves.

Matt continues to get a bevy of responses as to people’s Daily Websites. What are yours - beyond ISD of course?

And even though he wasn’t playing in the Players Championship and The Masters is now in doubt, it’s always a good time to marvel at the genius that is Tiger Woods on the golf course as evidenced by wmtblke’s thread here.
