Virtual Tours Coming to College Football, Notre Dame Ready

Kansas football and head coach Les Miles seem to be getting some credit for coming up with a Virtual Junior Day as college football works through the challenges of not being able to host prospects.

Yes, it's a great idea to hold a virtual Junior Day and Kansas should get props, but it's also something Notre Dame has used for years with recruits.

Insidenotredamefootball.com is a site the Irish have directed recruits to for years and I can personally remember 2018 defensive end Aeneas DiCosmo‍ mentioning it.

It's not groundbreaking technology or anything super fancy. Notre Dame allows viewers to see sites around campus such as Notre Dame Stadium, Eddy Street, The Basilica, The Grotto, locker rooms, weight room, South Quad, Stadium Quad, players lounge, practice fields and training table.

The viewer can click on spots around Notre Dame and get a 360-degree view of the highlighted area of campus.

The new indoor facility hasn't been added yet, but I would imagine you'll see that on the site soon.

It's a tool Notre Dame could enhance a little bit as they maneuver through uncharted waters with recruiting suspended.

We've seen various colleges come up with various ways to simulate game day experiences on campus, but could the internet once again win as programs will need to enhance sites like Notre Dame's?

We'll see.
