Stop By The Saloon
When ISD decided to create The Saloon, we thought it would be a fun alternative place to go when sports slowed down or subscribers simply wanted to talk about something else.
We never imagined it would become a virtual necessity, but with sports shut down for the last week and foreseeable future and a large portion of the nation basically paralyzed by the COVID-19 virus, it seems it has become just that to some readers and staff members.
During one of the most unusual weeks in our nation’s history, The Saloon has served as a place to offer actual information – like valleynd’s thread HERE, the thread by ruend HERE, and this one by krayzirishfan HERE.
The thread HERE posted by wmtblke served as a good reminder for us to appreciate those on the front lines of this.
The Saloon has offered a venue for members to offer their thoughts on how this is impacting them; talking about what it’s like where they live, and why they are or are not experiencing anxiety about everything.
It’s also been a spot to offer up some reasons to be hopeful like this thread by signguy54 and this message from a Division III football coach shared by nwdomer.
And The Saloon has also proven to be a place to ask questions of fellow members, like whether they plan to fly domestically anytime soon and how they could help small businesses.
Members offered binge-watching recommendations HERE and book recommendations HERE.
There are plenty of reasons to stop by The Saloon now - and while we love it, unfortunately, there will be many more in the days to come.
