2020 NFL Draft | Chicago Bears nab Notre Dame's Kmet
Former two-sport standout Cole Kmet is now a professional football player.
The Chicago Bears, nearby Kmet’s Illinois hometown, selected the former Notre Dame Fighting Irish tight end Friday with the 43rd overall pick and the 11th selection in the second round of the NFL Draft.
After playing baseball and football during his career at Notre Dame, Kmet declared early for the NFL Draft and became Notre Dame’s first player selected in the 2020 event. Kmet finished his career with 60 receptions for 691 yards and all six of his touchdowns during the 2019 season.
