Newly-Offered 2021 OL Tristan Bounds Includes Notre Dame In Top 8

Caught up with 2021 Connecticut offensive lineman Tristan Bounds‍ after he received his offer from Notre Dame this morning.

Bounds just released his Top 8 and Notre Dame was included along with Boston College, Michigan, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt.

That’s no surprise as Bounds told me this morning that he will definitely be making a visit to South Bend at some point now that he has the offer from the Irish. The 6-foot-8, 275-pounder from Choate Rosemary Hall in Connecticut told me, “It’s not if, it’s when,” in terms of visiting Notre Dame.

He’s also made pledges to take official visits to Michigan and Virginia, but obviously the dates are subject to change depending on when the current dead period is lifted.

He’d been in communication with the Irish in recent months and that contact picked up even more in the last few days, especially between himself, offensive line coach Jeff Quinn and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees.

Bounds, who boards at Choate, but lives in Maryland, wants to study Business in college and is impressed by what Notre Dame can offer him on and off the field.
