It's graduation weekend at Notre Dame and while the University Commencement Ceremony will be online instead of on-campus, the football program is making sure its graduates are recognized.

Notre Dame has started to release videos for each graduate and as their position coach writes a letter to them.

Yes, some will be back in 2020, but it doesn't change the fact they are getting recognized for likely the biggest accomplishment of their life.

Head football coach Brian Kelly wrote a letter to an old name as former tight end Troy Niklas will graduate this weekend.

Troy, it's Coach. What a journey it's been. When I think of your career at Notre Dame, I think of choices. You're intuition on the field, your team before me play and your pep rally surprises.

But I will always think of your choice to return to Notre Dame to finish your degree. Notre Dame is not easy and juggling a career and family doesn't make it any easier.

Well, you made the right choice and an inspiring one. Congratulations, Troy.

The 6-foot-6, 270-pounder Niklas played in 41 games over a four-year NFL career from 2014-17.

Niklas recorded 19 catches for 203 yards and three scores over his career with the Arizona Cardinals.

During his time at Notre Dame, Niklas made 37 receptions for 573 yards and six touchdowns.
